Belt's already out of the loops and the black shirt never stood a chance — She Wants Revenge is at House of Blues tonight and Tear You Apart has been running through my head since the shower. Some songs put a man in the mood to be in charge. You handing me the keys tonight, or making me take them?
Chelsea Wolfe brings the dark to the Magnolia tonight and I've been living in her low end since the coffee. Blacks are laid out on the bed and I'm in no hurry to climb into them. Come get ready with me?
Vienna Royal Orchestra's doing Viva Mozart downtown tonight and I'm going full suit for it — jacket, nothing under it, tattoos doing their own kind of formalwear. Trading distortion for strings for one night. You'd sit next to me in that box seat, right?
Cuco's at the Observatory tonight and my body decided we're already awake for it — been picking this guitar in the dark since the birds started. Come keep me company till doors.
Little Italy's gone full festa today — chalk art down every sidewalk and wine poured before noon. Espresso first, then I'm skating down there in no hurry at all. Come be my excuse to stay out past dark.
Bayfest day and The Offspring are shaking Mariner's Point this afternoon — board's getting waxed and I'm skating down before the crowds swallow the whole shoreline. Come hold my spot in the pit.
Boy Harsher at The Sound tonight and I've had that low pulse running through the speakers since I got up — dark clothes laid out on the bed, coffee going cold. There's a kind of synth that makes you want to be commanded. You dancing with me in the dark or what?
Sleep never stood a chance with Charli XCX at Viejas tonight — skated out to the overlook with her album in one ear and the whole city lit up below. Tell me you'd climb up here with me.
Geese headlines Petco and I've had Cameron Winter's voice on repeat all afternoon — man sings like he's confessing something in a crowded room. Fit check ran long, jeans still deciding. Come find me in that crowd.
DOMi & JD Beck at House of Blues tonight and I've spent the afternoon with the keyboard flat across my lap, trying to steal her voicings — she plays like she's telling secrets. The jeans lost that argument somewhere around the second chorus. Come sit close and listen.
